A walk along the Leeds-Liverpool canal. It is a magical day in December, the colours are magnificent, the usurper artist is in the lock-keeper's cottage, the divorced men are busy in their boats, the birds in the park have been ordered to number their boxes, the ferrets get to release their ferromones, and Benji gets to chase a squirrel. What could be more idyllic? And there's even a sunset to end the day . . . bliss indeed! While back in Nelson, it is as grim as ever!

Beautiful Pendle in the Snow
A spectacularly beautiful walk on Jan 6 2010, the sun came out and gave pink tones to the fallen snow. A walk of about two hours yielded these unforgettable photos

A snowy walk to Noggarth Top
Along the footpath from Barrowford Old Bridge to Water Meetings, then up the hillside to the left of the river, through the woods, coming out on the tops with views over the hills. Cross the Barrowford/Roughlee road at the top and continue on to Noggarth over farmland.

A Funny Snowman
Snowman by person or persons unknown, Leeds Liverpool canal, Barrowford Locks, Nelson. Had to video this for posterity. Never seen anything like it. Well done whoever you are.
